Description

The Knightsbridge CyroLED is an 86mm fire-rated tiltable LED downlight with selectable colour temperature (CCT) and wattage settings, supplied without a bezel for use with Knightsbridge's interchangeable twist-lock bezel range (sold separately). The lamp head tilts within the housing to direct light onto artwork, worktops, or architectural features, while the integrated LED provides four colour temperature options (3000K, 4000K, 5000K, 6500K) switchable via a DIP switch on the driver.

Designed for fire-rated ceilings requiring 30/60/90 minute protection, the CyroLED is IC rated for direct contact with loft insulation and carries IP65 front protection, making it suitable for bathrooms (zones 1 and 2), kitchens, and general interior use. The 40mm recessed depth fits standard joist gaps and the loop-in/loop-out connector allows multiple downlights to be daisy-chained on a single circuit without separate junction boxes. The no-bezel configuration allows specifiers to choose a bezel finish (white, chrome, brass, black) separately, giving flexibility where multiple finishes are needed across a project without stocking separate complete units.

The pressed steel housing measures 86mm in diameter with a 40mm recess depth and a minimal 4mm projection from the ceiling once the bezel is fitted. Wattage is selectable between 4W, 6W, 8W and 12W depending on the required light output, with lumen output ranging from 410lm (4W, 3000K) to 685lm (8W, 5000K). The 50° beam angle provides focused directional light when the head is tilted, or even ceiling wash when pointed straight down. Dimmable with trailing-edge dimmers (compatibility should be checked before installation as not all trailing-edge dimmers perform identically).

How do I change the colour temperature and wattage?

The CyroLED has a DIP switch on the LED driver accessible during installation. Colour temperature can be set to 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white), 5000K (cool white), or 6500K (daylight). Wattage can be selected between 4W, 6W, 8W and 12W depending on the light output needed. Both settings are fixed once installed and cannot be changed from the room.

Why is there no bezel included?

The CyroLED CYRT is supplied without a bezel to allow specifiers to choose the finish separately. Knightsbridge produces twist-lock bezels in white, polished chrome, brushed chrome, antique brass, polished brass, matt black and other finishes that clip into the same housing. This reduces stock complexity where a project requires multiple bezel finishes.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The IP65 front rating makes the CyroLED suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2 (above the bath/shower and within 0.6m of a basin). The IP20 rating from above means the fitting must be installed in a ceiling void that is not subject to water ingress.

What fire rating does it carry?

The CyroLED is fire-rated for 30, 60 and 90 minutes when installed correctly in a fire-rated ceiling. It is also IC rated, meaning it can be installed in direct contact with loft insulation without overheating.
