Description

The Knightsbridge CyroLED is an 86mm fire-rated anti-glare LED downlight with adjustable colour temperature and wattage settings built into the fitting. The recessed LED source sits behind a deep-set aperture that minimises direct view of the diode, reducing glare in kitchens, living rooms and bathrooms where the ceiling is in the normal sightline. The fitting is supplied without a bezel, allowing you to pair it with separate Knightsbridge bezel finishes (sold separately) in white, chrome, brass or black.

The downlight offers four CCT settings via a rear-mounted switch: 3000K, 4000K, 5000K and 6500K, ranging from warm white through neutral to cool daylight. A second switch toggles between 4W and 6W output, giving eight distinct lighting modes from a single fitting. The IP65 rating from below allows installation in bathroom zones 1 and 2 (subject to circuit protection) and the fire rating meets UK Building Regulations for retrofit ceiling penetrations. The 53mm recessed depth fits most ceiling voids and the loop-in/loop-out terminal block speeds installation in multi-downlight circuits.

The pressed steel housing carries Class II double-insulated construction, meaning it does not require an earth connection and is suitable for older wiring systems. The 45-degree beam angle provides focused downlighting rather than wide ambient wash, making it effective for task lighting over worktops, sinks and vanity units. The fitting is dimmable on trailing-edge dimmers; check compatibility with your dimmer model before installation as some older leading-edge dimmers may cause flicker.

How do I change the colour temperature and wattage?

Two DIP switches on the rear of the fitting allow you to select one of four CCT settings (3000K, 4000K, 5000K, 6500K) and toggle between 4W and 6W output. Settings are adjusted before installation or by removing the fitting from the ceiling.

Does this come with a bezel?

No. The CyroLED Anti-Glare is sold as a bezel-less fitting, allowing you to choose from Knightsbridge's range of separate bezels in white, polished chrome, brushed chrome, antique brass, matt black or satin nickel to match your interior.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

Yes. The IP65 rating from below allows installation in bathroom zones 1 and 2 (within 2.25m of a bath or shower enclosure), subject to the circuit being RCD-protected. The IP20 rating from above means the ceiling void does not need additional moisture protection.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The fitting requires a minimum 53mm recessed depth above the ceiling surface, plus clearance for the connector block and cable. Most plasterboard ceilings on timber joists provide adequate depth; suspended ceilings may need a deeper void depending on the grid system.
