Crystal Round Downlight Rim 62mm Cut-Out 90mm Dia - Rose Gold

This is a decorative crystal rim, cut to a deep round profile and finished in rose gold, that gives a recessed light a piece of jewellery in place of a plain bezel. The crystal reads warm and pink under lamplight, throwing small points of colour onto the ceiling around it. It drops into a standard 62mm cut-out and shows a face of 90mm, so it sits neatly in a run of spots. Being a rim only, it pairs with the matching lampholder and retaining ring kit and a lamp of your choosing.

We reach for these where downlights would otherwise look bare: a hallway, a dressing room, a bedroom, or an alcove above a sideboard where a little sparkle earns its keep. It suits homes that already have warmer metals in play, with blush and rose tones in taps, handles or frames. Dimming is possible if you use dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer, both bought separately. Keep it to rooms that stay dry and warm, and away from shower zones and unheated porches.

The rim is cut from Diyas Select crystal, coloured rose gold in the glass, and it is light enough in the hand to feel like the trim it is rather than a fitting. Dust the facets with a dry lint-free cloth when you notice them dulling; if more is needed, wipe the crystal with a barely damp cloth once the circuit is off and the lamp is no longer hot, then dry it straight away. It carries a one year warranty. What else do I need to complete this?

The rim is supplied on its own. You will need the IL30800 lampholder and retaining ring kit, available in satin black, aged brass or polished chrome, plus a suitable lamp.

What size hole does it fit?

It is made for a 62mm cut-out, with a 90mm visible face and a 20mm overall height.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. Neither is included.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms rather than in or near a shower or bath zone.

How do I keep the crystal clear?

A dry lint-free cloth for dust, and a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one for fingermarks. Avoid sprays and solvents, which can mark the rose gold crystal.

Does the rose gold match other pieces in the range?
