Description

Cut crystal in a deep black finish, this round rim turns a recessed light into a small piece of jewellery at ceiling level. The face measures 90mm across and the rim stands only 20mm deep, so it reads as a neat disc rather than a fitting sitting proud of the ceiling. Light passing through the faceting picks out the edges and scatters small glints across the ceiling around it. The crystal is black through the body rather than clear glass given a coloured coating.

We reach for these where a plain white trim looks a little bare: a hallway, a dressing room, a short run above a dark worktop, or an alcove where a bit of sparkle does more good than extra brightness. They are made for dry rooms indoors, so bedrooms, landings and sitting rooms suit them, rather than a shower enclosure or an open porch. This is a rim on its own, so the lampholder and retaining ring come from the matching component kit, which we stock alongside it in more than one finish. Dimming is possible where the lamp chosen is a dimmable type and a dimmer switch is used.

The rim is cut crystal throughout, black in body, and light enough to handle comfortably in one hand. Keep it looking sharp with a soft lint-free cloth for dust, and lift fingerprints using a cloth barely damp with warm water, drying the facets straight afterwards; solvents and abrasive creams take the crispness off cut glass. It carries a one year warranty. Across the range we also stock round and square rims, chamfered and bubble-cut faces and clustered designs in clear and coloured crystal, so a ceiling can be kept uniform or mixed a little from room to room. The lamp itself is chosen separately to suit the light you want.
