Cotswold Lane 2 Light Outdoor Medium Pillar - Black

The Cotswold Lane is a 1100mm outdoor pillar light with a cast aluminium lantern head finished in black, housing two E14 bulb positions behind clear bevelled glass panels. The lantern head sits on a cylindrical post with a flared base plate, designed for bolting to brick piers, rendered gate posts or concrete plinths flanking a driveway or garden entrance.

Built for pathway lighting, driveway markers and gate post illumination, the Cotswold Lane casts light through four faces of bevelled glass, creating a wide 360-degree spread. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing from any direction, making it suitable for fully exposed positions including coastal gardens. The two E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) can be matched to the rest of your outdoor scheme — warm white for traditional settings, cool white for contemporary.

The die-cast aluminium construction withstands freeze-thaw cycles, UV exposure and coastal salt spray without the corrosion issues common to mild steel. The black powder-coat finish is baked on rather than painted, giving better adhesion and weather resistance. At 229mm square and 1100mm tall, the fitting provides presence without overwhelming a typical 300-400mm brick pier. The architectural detailing on the lantern cap and base moulding references Victorian and Edwardian street lighting.

What bulbs does it take?

The Cotswold Lane takes two E14 candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED candle bulbs between 4-6W for pathway lighting, choosing 2700K-3000K for a warm glow or 4000K for a cooler white.

How is it mounted?

The base plate bolts to the top of a brick pier, rendered gate post or concrete plinth. Pre-drill fixing holes through the base plate into the masonry and use M8 or M10 stainless steel fixings with rawl plugs. The electrical cable feeds up through the hollow post from below.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing from any direction. The die-cast aluminium construction and powder-coated finish withstand freeze-thaw cycles, UV exposure and coastal salt spray.

What height pier does it suit?

The 1100mm overall height works on piers between 800-1200mm tall, depending on the desired final height. On a 1000mm pier the lantern head sits approximately 2100mm above ground level, which gives good visibility for vehicles approaching a driveway.
