Description

Five candle lamps sit inside a tiered spread of clear K9 crystal, carried on a metal frame in an antique brass finish that reads warm and gently aged rather than bright and yellow. It measures 50cm across, so it holds the middle of a room without needing to hang low, and the drop can be taken up so the body sits close to the ceiling or let out if you want it nearer eye level. Lit, the crystal breaks the light into small bright points across the ceiling and the surrounding walls, which is most of the appeal.

We would choose it for a hallway, a landing, a dining room above the table or a main bedroom, and it is one we reach for where a full length pendant would hang too low for comfort. It takes E14 candle lamps, and LED candles in a C35 shape suit the holders best. Dimming is possible if you fit dimmable lamps and a matching dimmer, neither of which comes with it. Being rated for dry indoor rooms, it belongs away from shower spray and steam.

The crystal is faceted and clear throughout, cut to catch light from several angles, and the brasswork gives it a little weight and age against a plain ceiling. Keep it looking right by dusting the crystal with a dry cloth and lifting fingermarks with a barely damp one, always with the power off at the wall switch and the lamps cool to the touch. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same design in polished nickel, in smaller diameters with fewer lamps, and as a matching wall light if you want the crystal repeated at a lower level. Lamps are not included.
