Cosette 4 Light Semi Flush Ceiling Light 40cm - Polished Nickel

A tiered arrangement of clear K9 crystal on a brightly polished nickel frame, this takes four small candle lamps and sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging low. At 40cm across it has enough presence for a decent-sized room while keeping its profile modest. Polished nickel is cooler in tone than brass, and it reads well against pale plaster, soft greys and papered walls; the crystal does the rest, breaking the light into small bright points once the lamps are on.

We reach for this where a full pendant would hang too low: a landing, a hallway, a bedroom above the foot of the bed, or a smaller dining room with a modest ceiling height. It gives a decorative, glinting light rather than a broad even wash, so in a working kitchen or a study we would pair it with something more directional nearby. Fit dimmable lamps and it will dim on a compatible dimmer, which is worth doing in a bedroom; warm white LED candle lamps keep the crystal looking bright without harsh glare. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, away from steam and splashing.

Crystal drops in K9 are cut for clarity, and the nickel work around them is kept plain so the glass stays the point of interest. Faceted glass shows dust sooner than a plain shade, so a gentle going over with a dry microfibre cloth every few weeks is the whole job; switch the power off first and let the lamps cool before you handle anything. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same design in antique brass, in smaller and larger sizes, and as a matching wall light if you want the room to tie together. Lamps are not included.

What lamps does it take?

Four E14 candle lamps, with a maximum of 20W each. We would choose LED candle lamps in the C35 shape, and they are not supplied with the fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and use a compatible dimmer. No dimmer is supplied.

How big is it?

It measures 400mm in diameter and 270mm in height, so it suits rooms where a long hanging light would sit uncomfortably low.

What is the crystal?

Clear K9 crystal, chosen for its clarity and the way it splits light into small bright reflections.

How do I clean the crystal?

With the power off and the lamps cool, wipe the drops with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid sprays and solvents, which can dull both the glass and the polished nickel.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as hallways, bedrooms and dining rooms.
