Description

Four candle lamps sit inside a tiered halo of clear K9 crystal, carried on a frame finished in antique brass. At 40cm across it reads as a broad, low ring of light rather than a tall centrepiece, and the faceted crystal catches each E14 lamp and scatters it over the ceiling as well as down into the room. Clear glass against warm metal keeps the whole thing bright without going cold. The drop is adjustable, so it can sit close overhead or hang a little lower where there is height to spare.

We reach for this where a hallway or a landing wants some sparkle but no long stem in the way. It suits a dining table in a room of ordinary ceiling height, a double bedroom, or a small sitting room where a full chandelier would crowd things. The lamps spread light evenly, which helps over a table or a stairwell. It will dim, provided the lamps you choose are dimmable and paired with a compatible dimmer. This is a dry indoor fitting, so a hall, kitchen or bedroom is right; a bathroom or an open porch is not.

The frame is metal in an antique brass finish, warm and gently aged rather than bright, and the crystal is clear K9, cut to hold and split the light. For cleaning, work through the crystal a section at a time with a dry microfibre cloth; if it has dulled, a barely damp cloth followed by a dry buff will bring the facets back, and keep polishes and sprays off the brass. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same design in polished nickel, in a smaller and a wider size, and there is a matching wall light if you want the two to speak to each other. Lamps are not included.
