Cosette 3 Light E14 Semi Flush Ceiling Light 30cm - Antique Brass

Clear cut crystal drops hang in tiers from a shallow antique brass frame, sitting close to the ceiling so the room stays open overhead. Three candle lamps with E14 fittings sit inside, and the faceted glass breaks their light into small bright points across the ceiling. At 30cm across it reads more as a piece of jewellery than a chandelier, with plenty of sparkle for its size. The metalwork is kept slim, so the crystal does most of the work.

It suits rooms where a pendant would hang in the way: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom under a lower ceiling, or a small dining room. We would fit warm white LED candle lamps here for a softer glint off the crystal, and it will dim happily provided the lamps you choose are dimmable and the switch suits them. The light spreads gently rather than pooling, which suits a hallway you pass through as much as a room you settle in. Rated for dry indoor rooms, it belongs in living space rather than a bathroom or a covered porch.

The frame is finished in antique brass, a warmed and slightly darkened tone that sits well with older woodwork and brass door furniture, and every drop is clear crystal. Dust settles on faceted glass quickly, so wipe each drop with a clean lint free cloth once the fitting is cold and the power is off at the switch; a little glass cleaner on the cloth rather than on the metal will lift finger marks. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same design in polished nickel, in larger versions for bigger rooms, and as a matching wall light. Lamps are not included.

Which lamps does it take?

Three E14 candle lamps of up to 20W each. LED candles in the C35 shape are the ones we would choose, and lamps are not supplied with the fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, as long as the lamps you fit are dimmable and are used with a dimmer suited to them. No dimmer is supplied.

What crystal is used?

Clear K9 crystal, cut so the facets throw small points of light around the room.

How much space does it need?

It measures 300mm in diameter and 350mm in height, so it takes very little headroom compared with a hanging fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is IP20 rated and should be kept to dry rooms away from steam and splashes.

How do I keep the crystal bright?

A lint free cloth, used with the power off and the fitting cool, is usually enough. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the brass finish.
