Cortina 8 Light Crystal Chandelier - Antique Brass Telescopic 58cm

The Cortina is a 580mm crystal chandelier built around two pivoting antique brass rings, each adorned with tiers of Asfour cut crystal squares suspended in vertical strands. Eight G9 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately) sit within the structure, casting light through the crystal and creating refracted patterns across walls and ceilings. The rings can be rotated independently during installation, allowing the chandelier to be configured as a compact spiral or an open double-helix depending on the room geometry.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height spaces with ceiling heights between 2.7m and 3.5m, the Cortina uses a telescopic suspension system that adjusts the drop from 735mm to 1080mm on installation. The antique brass finish on the metalwork gives a warm, slightly oxidised tone that contrasts with the clear crystal and pairs well with traditional, transitional and warm contemporary interiors. The chandelier weighs 11kg and requires a ceiling fixing rated for the full weight plus a safety margin.

Each crystal square is cut from Asfour crystal, a lead-free optical crystal manufactured in Egypt to a clarity standard comparable to traditional leaded crystal but lighter and more environmentally stable. The squares are wired onto the brass frame in overlapping rows, so the crystal density increases towards the bottom of each ring. This tiered arrangement means the chandelier appears denser and more reflective when viewed from below, while the upper sections remain more open and allow the brass structure to remain visible.

What bulbs does the Cortina take?

The chandelier takes eight G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) at 3-5W per bulb, giving a combined output of approximately 2,400-4,000 lumens depending on bulb choice.

Is the Cortina dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LED bulbs dim smoothly, so check bulb specifications before purchase if dimming is required.

Can the rings be rotated after installation?

The rings can be rotated during installation to set the desired configuration (compact spiral or open helix). Once the chandelier is hung and the configuration is set, the rings are not designed for regular adjustment, as this would require accessing the ceiling fixing.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off power at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal square with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but dry each piece immediately afterwards. Avoid household sprays or chemical cleaners, as these can leave residue on the crystal.
