Description
The Coniston is a 660mm diameter crystal pendant light carrying 12 E14 bulbs across a French gold metal frame, built from hundreds of individual clear crystal drops arranged in overlapping tiers that form a rounded cascading sphere. Each crystal is faceted to refract light across multiple planes, creating texture and depth as the tiers narrow toward the base. The French gold finish on the frame, canopy and chain provides a warm metallic backdrop that contrasts with the clear crystal while unifying the entire structure from ceiling to lowest tier.
Designed for double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms and reception spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Coniston sits 840mm from ceiling to base at minimum drop and extends to 2270mm when fully lowered on the adjustable chain. The 29.2kg weight requires a ceiling joist or substantial ceiling rose capable of supporting the load, and the 660mm diameter needs approximately 1.2m of clear horizontal space to avoid the pendant interfering with circulation or furniture. The 12 bulbs (sold separately) can be dimmed using dimmable E14 LED or halogen bulbs paired with a compatible dimmer switch.
The crystal drops are cut glass rather than acrylic, giving harder edges and sharper refraction than synthetic alternatives. The French gold finish has a softer, warmer tone than polished brass or yellow gold, sitting somewhere between antique brass and rose gold depending on ambient light. This makes the Coniston pair comfortably with both warm-toned traditional interiors and contemporary schemes using brass or gold accent hardware. The layered structure means the pendant reads as a sculptural sphere from most viewing angles, but the tiers become more visible when viewed from directly below, revealing the internal frame structure.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Coniston take?
The pendant takes 12 E14 bulbs, each rated up to 20W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to balance light output against the crystal refraction.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, provided you use dimmable E14 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no dimming restriction, so dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs chosen and the dimmer model installed.
What ceiling height is needed?
At minimum drop (840mm from ceiling to base), the Coniston works in rooms with 2.7m ceilings if positioned over a dining table or in an area without foot traffic directly underneath. For entrance halls or stairwells where people walk beneath the pendant, ceiling heights of 3.2m or above give comfortable clearance.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Each crystal drop can be wiped individually with a dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust buildup, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the crystals or using household glass cleaners, which can leave residue on the facets. The 12 bulbs should be switched off and cool before cleaning.
