Description

The Chicago is a 1150mm pillar lantern in textured black aluminium with a turn-of-the-century lantern head and clear seeded blown glass panels. The E27 socket inside the glass compartment accepts a single bulb up to 60W (sold separately), which casts light through the seeded glass to create a soft textured wash across paths, driveways and garden borders.

Designed for mounting on pillar caps, low boundary walls, gate posts and garden pedestals, the Chicago suits traditional and period property exteriors as well as contemporary schemes needing a heritage accent. The IP44 rating protects internal components against rain splash and solid objects above 1mm, making the lantern suitable for exposed positions in UK weather. The 1150mm total height includes the flared base and decorative finial at the top of the glass compartment.

The textured black finish is applied to die-cast aluminium, which resists corrosion better than painted steel in coastal or high-humidity sites. The seeded glass is hand-blown, so each panel shows slight variation in the size and distribution of air bubbles within the glass. The lantern head measures 235mm square at the base, tapering to the finial at the crown, and sits on a fluted pillar column above a stepped plinth base designed to bolt onto a flat pillar cap or post head.
