Beige braided flex with two cores twisted together, meant for lighting work where the cable is part of the look rather than something to hide away. The braid gives a soft, lightly textured neutral that sits somewhere between cream and stone, and the twist keeps the pair tidy as it runs. It is VDE approved, with each core at 0.75mm, the usual size for domestic lighting flex. We supply it by the metre, and the quantity you order arrives as one continuous length rather than as cut pieces.

We reach for this on pendants and rise-and-fall fittings, on rewires of older table and floor lamps, and on any hanging fitting where a run of flex sits in plain view. Beige is quieter than black or white against pale plaster, oak, rattan and linen, so it works well in kitchens, bedrooms and hallways where you would rather the drop read as part of the room than as a dark line through it. Keep it to dry indoor spots; it is not a cable for outbuildings, shower zones or anywhere damp.

The outer braid is worked over the insulated conductors, which are twisted rather than laid flat, so the flex holds a gentle coil and drapes without kinking. The colour runs through the braid itself. For upkeep, draw a dry cloth along the length now and then to lift dust from the weave, with the power off first, and keep solvents and damp cloths away from the braid so the finish stays even. Switch the power off, then run a dry cloth or a soft brush along the weave. Dust lifts easily; avoid solvents, polishes and damp cloths.
