Description

This is a flexible lighting cable with a woven blue outer braid laid over two insulated cores, sized at 0.75mm. The braid gives it a textile surface rather than the slick feel of plain sheathing, so a visible run of cable can be part of the fitting instead of something to tuck away. It is slim, pliable and holds a gentle curve, and it is VDE approved.

We reach for it on pendant rewires and on lamp bases where the cable is on show, and it suits exposed drops over a kitchen island, a run of shades along a hallway, or a bedside light where the flex trails down the wall. Blue is a good foil to white walls and it sits happily with brass and warm timber. Order by the metre and the quantity you choose is supplied as a single continuous length, so you can work to the drop you want without joining pieces.

The braid is woven tightly over the insulation, which keeps the colour even along the length and gives the cable a little grip in the hand. Dust settles on a woven surface more readily than on smooth sheathing, so wipe along the braid with a dry cloth now and then, with the circuit switched off first; leave solvents and damp cloths out of it, since the braid will mark.
