Description

Sold as a frame only, this is the piece you begin with when the shade is the part you really want to choose. It measures 15cm across and holds a single E27 lampholder tight up under the ceiling, which is why so many shades will sit happily over it. The antique gold finish has a warm, gently aged tone that reads softer than a bright metal, and in a small fitting that goes a long way. Change your mind about the shade in a year or two and the frame stays where it is.

We reach for this one in rooms where a hanging light simply will not do: low landings, a boxroom, the top of a narrow stairwell, a cloakroom, or a bedroom where a pendant would sit in the way of a wardrobe door. It suits anyone matching a light to an existing fabric shade, or working through a house and wanting the same shade shape repeated at different ceiling heights. With a compatible lamp and a compatible dimmer it can be dimmed, so it works for a bedroom as well as a hallway.

The finish is even across the frame and keeps its warmth under both cool and warm lamps. Looking after it takes very little: an occasional pass with a dry, lint free cloth is plenty, and it is best kept away from polishes, sprays and anything damp, as the antique gold is happier left alone. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same small frame in polished chrome and satin nickel, and if you need more light over a table or a landing there are three light versions in the range, both flush to the ceiling and as linear and round pendants.
