Description

Three E27 lampholders sit in a line along a slim polished chrome bar, ready to take whatever shades you choose. The frame arrives on its own, which is rather the point of it: you pick the shades, their size and their material, and the fitting becomes yours rather than ours. At 850mm the bar spreads light along a length instead of pooling it in one spot, and the drop adjusts widely, so it can sit high in a tall room or hang close over a work surface.

We reach for this where a single pendant would leave the ends of a table in shadow: above a long dining table, a kitchen island, a breakfast bar, or a run of worktop in a narrow kitchen. It suits anyone who already has shades in mind, or who likes knowing they can swap them later without changing the fitting itself. Given suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer it will dim, though neither of those is supplied with it.

The bar and ceiling plate wear a bright polished chrome finish that catches daylight and answers nicely to nearby taps, handles and kettles. An occasional wipe with a barely damp cloth keeps it clear, dried off straight away so the shine is not left marked, and always with the power off and the lamps cold before you start. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the linear frame in antique gold and satin nickel besides this chrome, and in a longer version with an extra lamp position, while the wider range runs to round pendants and flush ceiling fittings. Shades and lamps are chosen separately, so it is worth settling on those before the frame goes up.

Dust it with a dry cloth between times, and for marks use a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry one. Avoid abrasive creams and solvent cleaners.
