Description

Three E27 lampholders sit evenly around a slim satin nickel ring, and the shades are left entirely to you. This is the frame on its own, 40cm across, so it accepts small shades in fabric, glass or metal and changes character completely depending on which you pick. The suspension is adjustable over a wide range, which means it can hang low above a table or be shortened to sit tidily under a ceiling with little height to spare.

We would choose it where a single central pendant looks lost over a long dining table or a kitchen island, since the light spreads along the surface instead of pooling in one spot. It works quietly as a hall or bedroom fitting too, and it suits anyone who already owns shades they like, or who would rather refresh a room by swapping shades than by replacing the whole fitting. With suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer, the level can be brought right down for the evening.

The frame is finished in satin nickel, a soft mid-grey sheen that sits comfortably beside brushed steel appliances and pale paintwork without pulling the eye. To keep it looking its best, run a dry duster around the ring and over the lampholders now and then, and keep abrasive creams and sprays away from the finish. It carries a one year warranty. The same round frame is offered in antique gold and polished chrome, and the wider range runs to linear bars for narrower tables as well as flush ceiling versions where a hanging fitting would sit too low.
