Description

Three lampholders sit in a line along a slim satin nickel bar, ready for shades of your own choosing. It comes as a frame only, which is rather the point: the E27 holders are the universal sort, so most standard shade rings drop straight on, and you can swap them later without changing the light itself. At 850mm end to end, the bar spreads light along a surface while still reading as one piece, and the suspension is adjustable so the drop can be set to suit the ceiling height.

We reach for a linear frame like this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where one central pendant tends to leave the ends of the surface dim. It suits a long breakfast bar or a run of worktop just as well. Because the shades are yours to pick, the same frame can stay quiet with plain fabric drums or turn bolder with glass or metal, which helps if you are furnishing a room in stages. Each holder takes up to 20W, so LED lamps are the sensible choice, and the fitting will dim given dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer.

The satin nickel finish is a soft brushed silver that sits happily alongside chrome taps and stainless appliances without the glare of something polished. To keep it looking well, wipe the bar and the holders with a barely damp cloth once the power is off and everything is cold, then dry straight away; harsh cleaners and scouring pads are best left in the cupboard. It carries a one year warranty.
