Description

Two light sources sit on one slender stem: a broad shade at the top spreading light upwards and across the ceiling, and a smaller head lower down for reading. Both run on integrated LEDs at a warm white 3000K, and both are worked by a touch switch that also dims, so a tap sets the level. A USB socket is built in for charging a phone or an e-reader.

We would put it beside an armchair or at the end of a sofa, where you want soft light for the room and a brighter pool for a book from the same place. At 1.8m it stands tall enough to clear the back of most seating, and the narrow footprint lets it tuck into a corner or between a chair and a bookcase. It suits open plan living rooms where the ceiling light is doing too much work, and bedrooms that want a reading light without a bedside table. The touch dimmer makes it easy to drop the level for evening television.

The frame carries a satin nickel finish, a soft low sheen that sits quietly against grey, oak and warm neutrals. The driver is housed inside the lamp and it runs at low voltage. Keep it to dry rooms indoors. For cleaning, a dry duster over the shades and stem is plenty, and it pays to keep sprays and creams away from the touch plate so it stays responsive; switch off at the socket first. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same lamp in aged brass, satin black and polished nickel if nickel reads too cool for the room.
