Description

Two light heads sit on a slim satin black stem: a broader head for general light and a smaller one angled for reading. Both use integrated LED at 3000K, a warm white that reads soft against dark paint and darker timber. A touch dimmer on the body takes the output up and down without a floor switch or an inline rocker, and a USB socket is built in for charging a phone or a tablet from the same spot. Low voltage, driver included.

At around 1.8m tall, it stands well beside a sofa arm, a wing chair or the end of a bed, where the taller head throws light across the room and the shorter one drops it onto a page. We reach for this one in sitting rooms that already have plenty of table lamps and need height rather than another pool of light at knee level. It suits anyone who reads in the evening and would rather dial the brightness down for television than switch the whole thing off. Because the charging point travels with the lamp, it earns its place next to a chair with no side table.

The satin black finish is even and low in sheen, so fingerprints and dust show less than they would on a gloss. Keep the mains off while you clean, run a soft dry cloth down the stem and over the heads, and avoid sprays and creams on the touch panel, which only needs a light wipe. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock the same lamp in aged brass, polished nickel and satin nickel if black is too firm a note for the room, and the shapes match across all four, so a pair either side of a sofa can be mixed or matched as you like.
