Description

The Knightsbridge blank grid module is a brushed chrome faceplate designed to fill unused positions in the Grid modular wiring system. The module clips into the front of a Grid mounting frame (sold separately) without requiring tools, creating a finished appearance where a switch, socket or dimmer position is not currently needed.

Designed for residential and commercial installations using the Knightsbridge Grid system, the blank module allows installers to configure a multi-gang plate with only the active positions needed at the time, while keeping spare positions available for future additions. This is common in boardrooms, home offices and media walls where additional sockets or AV connections may be added later without replacing the entire mounting frame or cutting new back boxes.

The brushed chrome finish coordinates with other modules in the Grid range, providing a consistent appearance across mixed-function plates. The module measures 24.8mm wide and 56.3mm tall, occupying one standard grid position. The ABS and steel construction with IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments, and the 25-year warranty covers the module against manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked

What is the Knightsbridge Grid system?

The Grid system is a modular wiring solution where individual switch, socket, dimmer and blank modules clip into a separate mounting frame. This allows multi-gang plates to be configured with any combination of functions without pre-determined layouts.

Do I need to buy the mounting frame separately?

Yes. Grid modules require a Grid mounting frame (sold separately) that fixes to the back box and holds the individual modules. Frames are available in 1-6 gang configurations.

Can I add a switch or socket to this position later?

Yes. The blank module can be removed from the front of the mounting frame and replaced with an active module (switch, socket, dimmer) without rewiring, provided the back box has the necessary cable connections available.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed to accommodate the Grid mounting frame and modules. The blank module itself adds 12.8mm of projection from the mounting frame.
