Description

Clear crystal hangs in close-set strands from a polished chrome frame, catching light from every angle and scattering it back across the room. Eight candle lamps sit within the body of the piece rather than on open display, so what you see is the crystal doing the work. At 74cm across, this is a genuine centrepiece rather than a modest ceiling light, wide enough to fill the space above a table and deep enough to keep its shape when viewed from below. The crystal is Diyas Select, cut clear throughout.

We would hang this over a dining table, in a double-height hall or above the turn of a stairwell, anywhere there is height to give it room to breathe. The light is ambient, soft and widely spread rather than aimed, so it works best alongside lamps or downlights where reading or close work happens. It will dim, provided dimmable lamps are fitted and a dimmer switch is wired in, and neither of those comes with it. It suits a formal room, but the bright chrome keeps it from feeling heavy in a plainer, more modern interior.

The frame is polished to a bright, near-mirror chrome that plays off the clear crystal without adding colour to the light. Crystal repays attention: work around it in sections with a clean lint-free cloth, using a barely damp one for marks and drying as you go, with the power off and the lamps cold. This is a dry indoor piece and should stay well away from bathrooms and porches. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same design in French gold, in smaller sizes for lower rooms, and as matching switched wall lights if you want the look repeated. Lamps are not included.
