Baymont Semi Flush Ceiling Light 60cm - Polished Chrome

A wide faux silk drum in ivory pearl, lined in white laminate, sits under a polished chrome plate and closes at the base with a frosted acrylic diffuser rimmed in chrome. Light passes softly through the shade walls and straight down through the diffuser, so the spread is broad and even rather than pooled. At 60cm across it reads as a generous circle on the ceiling while keeping its body shallow. We stock it as the finished article rather than a plate and shade to be paired.

It suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low: a landing, a bedroom under a sloping ceiling, a dining room in a flat, a hall that needs light spread wide. The scale asks for a little space around it, so we would choose it for a double bedroom or a square hall rather than a box room. The E27 lampholder takes up to 20W, and we would fit an LED GLS lamp here for a steady glow through the fabric. It will dim with a compatible lamp and dimmer if you want the level lower in the evening.

The shade is faux silk over a white laminate lining, so it holds its shape and keeps a clean pale face, and the polished chrome stays bright. Keep the fabric fresh with a soft brush or the low suction of a vacuum nozzle, and give the chrome an occasional buff with a dry duster once the power is off and the lamp cold. A lamp is not supplied. It carries a one year warranty. How far down does it come from the ceiling?

Overall height is 42cm, of which the chrome body accounts for 220mm, so it stays well clear of head height in an average room.

Which lamp does it take?

One E27 lamp, up to 20W. A GLS A60 shape in LED works best behind the fabric and the frosted diffuser. No lamp is supplied.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable lamp with a dimmer matched to it. Neither the dimmer nor the lamp is included.

How wide is the shade?

The drum measures 60cm in diameter, so allow clear space around it in narrower halls and landings.

How should the shade and diffuser be cleaned?

Brush the faux silk lightly or use a vacuum nozzle on its lowest setting. The acrylic diffuser can be wiped with a dry, lint free cloth, with the power off and the lamp cold.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is intended for dry indoor rooms such as bedrooms, halls and living spaces, not for bathroom zones or covered outdoor areas.
