The shade here is a wide, shallow drum in dual faux silk, nude beige on the outside with a paler moonlight lining that warms the light as it passes through. It sits on an antique brass frame that holds the shade close to the ceiling rather than dropping it into the room, and the underside is closed by a frosted acrylic diffuser set in an antique brass ring, so the lamp itself stays hidden and the light spreads evenly downwards. At 50cm across, it fills a ceiling properly without adding height.

Keep the fabric fresh with a light brush or the soft dust attachment of a vacuum, and wipe the diffuser and brasswork with a barely damp cloth once the power is off and the lamp has gone cold.
