Description

A single drop pendant carrying a 40cm dual faux silk shade, Raw Cocoa on the outside and lined in Grecian Bronze, so the light takes on a warm tone as it falls. A frosted acrylic diffuser sits in the lower rim within an antique brass ring, which softens the view of the lamp from below and pushes light down onto whatever sits beneath it. Suspension, ceiling cup and trim are all antique brass, and the drop can be set anywhere from a close hang to a little over three metres.

We would hang this over a dining table or the end of a kitchen island, where the shade is wide enough to read as the main light in the room without crowding the space above head height. It also works well down a stairwell or in a hall with height to spare, since the flex can be let out to suit. It takes a single E27 lamp and we would choose an LED GLS of up to 20W. Dimming is possible where the lamp and the dimmer are both compatible, and neither comes with the fitting.

The shade is fabric over a rigid frame, so it holds its round profile, and the acrylic diffuser gives an even glow rather than a hard bright spot. Keep it indoors and in dry air, away from bathrooms, wet rooms and anything steamy. For upkeep, run a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment over the faux silk now and then, and wipe the acrylic with a barely damp cloth only, never a solvent or a cream cleaner. It carries a one year warranty. If you like the antique brass and want it echoed elsewhere in the house, we stock Baymont ceiling fittings in the same finish, including a small semi flush plate and a three light linear pendant, both sold ready to take shades of your own choosing.
