Description

A shallow drum shade in nude beige faux silk sits beneath a polished chrome plate, held close enough to the ceiling to keep a room feeling open overhead. The shade measures 30cm across, with a moonlight lining inside that softens the light as it falls. The chrome is bright and reflective, picking up whatever daylight the room has, while the beige keeps the shape quiet against a pale ceiling. It reads as a neat, rounded form rather than anything attention-seeking, and the short body means the shade does most of the visual work.

We reach for this where a pendant would hang too low: landings, hallways, box rooms and bedrooms with lower ceilings. An E27 lamp does the work, and we would fit a warm white LED GLS for a soft, even glow through the faux silk. It will dim if you pair a dimmable lamp with a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with the fitting. Lamps rated up to 20W are suitable, which goes a long way in LED terms for a hall, a spare room or a bedside-lit bedroom. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; it is not made for bathroom zones or anywhere exposed.

The frame is metal under a polished chrome finish, and the shade is a dual faux silk build, beige on the outside and moonlight within.
