A grey fabric cylinder sits close to the ceiling on a polished chrome cup and short centre pole, so light spreads softly across the ceiling and down into the room. The shade is lined in white laminate, which keeps the light clean and bright rather than tinted, and at 40cm across it reads as a proper shade rather than a token cover. Its distribution is ambient, an even wash rather than a directed beam.

We reach for this where a hanging pendant would sit too low: hallways, landings, a small bedroom, a study, or a kitchen where headroom matters. The drop is short enough to keep a doorway clear, while the shade still gives the room something soft to look at. It suits anyone who would rather have fabric overhead than a bare glass dome.
