Description

A wide drum shade in raw cocoa faux silk hangs from satin nickel metalwork, with a Grecian bronze lining that warms the light as it leaves the shade. Across 50cm it is a broad, calm shape rather than a busy one, and a frosted acrylic diffuser closes the base so the lamp is not stared at from below. It takes an E27 lamp, and the suspension allows a short hang or a long one. The proportions are steady enough for it to hang on its own without looking underdressed.

This is one we reach for over a dining table or a kitchen island, where a wide shade sits comfortably above eye level and the diffuser keeps glare off faces. It works just as well in a hall with the drop let out, or lower beside a bed for reading. We would put an LED GLS lamp of up to 20W in it, and with the right lamp and a compatible dimmer on the circuit the level can be brought down for the evening.

The shade is a dual faux silk, cocoa outside and bronze within, above a diffuser of frosted acrylic finished to match the satin nickel. Keep it looking fresh by lifting dust off the fabric with a soft brush and giving the acrylic an occasional wipe once the light is off and cool. It is an indoor pendant for dry rooms, and it carries a one year warranty.
