Description

A single pendant on a polished chrome suspension, dressed with a dual faux silk shade in taupe over a halo gold lining. The shade measures 30cm across and is deep enough to soften the light without swallowing it, while the gold inner face warms everything that passes through the lower opening. It takes one E27 lamp, and the drop is adjustable up to 3.3m, so the hanging height is yours to set rather than fixed for you.

We reach for this one where a table, an island or a reading chair wants a single clear point of light. It sits happily over a dining table, at the turn of a stairwell, or in a pair either side of a bed with the drop shortened to clear the headboard. With suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer on the circuit it will dim, which helps in a room that moves from cooking to eating across an evening. The taupe reads as a quiet mid neutral, so it settles into painted walls, wood and stone without competing for attention.

The metalwork is polished chrome, bright and reflective, and the shade is faux silk with the gold lining set behind the outer face. To keep it right, switch off at the wall first, lift dust from the fabric with a soft brush, then wipe the chrome with a dry cloth; nothing wet and nothing abrasive. It carries a one year warranty. This is a fitting for dry indoor rooms, so we would keep it clear of bathrooms and covered porches.
