Description

Taupe faux silk wraps a deep drum shade, lined in halo gold so the light picks up a little warmth as it falls. Beneath it, a frosted acrylic diffuser set in a polished chrome rim closes the underside, turning five E27 lamps into one broad, even wash rather than a scatter of bright spots. At 40cm across, the drum is generous without being overbearing, and from below it reads as one calm shape instead of a fitting assembled from parts.

This is the size we reach for over a dining table, a kitchen island or a wide hallway, where a single lamp would leave the corners dim. The drop adjusts across a long span, so it can hang low over a table or be taken up short for a room with an ordinary ceiling height. Each holder takes up to 20W, which with LED GLS lamps gives plenty of light for an open-plan space without harshness. Dimming is possible where you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with the pendant. The muted shade and plain metal sit happily in a period dining room or a newer flat.

The frame is finished in polished chrome, bright against the soft shade, and the diffuser is trimmed to match. Keep the faux silk fresh with a soft brush or the upholstery tool on a vacuum; the chrome and the diffuser ask for no more than a dry cloth, with the power off first.
