Description

Three lamps run along a slim satin nickel bar, each beneath a faux silk shade in ivory pearl with a white laminate lining. At 30cm across, the shades are broad enough to soften the light and keep the row looking generous rather than spindly. The bar measures 1.19m end to end, so the fitting reads as a horizontal line across a room rather than a single point of light. The suspension is adjustable, so the shades can sit high and tidy or hang low over a surface.

This is the shape we suggest for a dining table or a kitchen island, where one central fitting tends to leave the ends of the surface in shadow. It suits a long console or a run of worktop equally well, and it earns its keep in a room with a high ceiling, since the flex can be let down a long way. It takes E27 lamps, and we would fit LED GLS globes here for warm, even light through the fabric. Dimming is possible if you pair dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer; neither is supplied.

The metalwork is finished in satin nickel, a soft brushed sheen that stays quieter than chrome against pale walls. The shades are faux silk over a laminate lining, so they hold their drum shape and keep the fabric looking crisp. Keep dust off the fabric with a soft brush or the upholstery head of a vacuum, and give the nickel an occasional wipe with a dry cloth once the lamps are cold. It carries a one year warranty. The wider Baymont range runs to flush ceiling fittings in the same ivory pearl and white shade, along with gold leaf, silver leaf and dual-tone options and a polished chrome finish.
