Description

Three flexes drop from a single satin nickel ceiling plate and gather beneath a wide faux silk shade in grey. It reads as a single light rather than a cluster, the lamps sitting together inside the drum so the fabric glows evenly rather than showing hot spots. At 45cm across it has enough presence to anchor a dining table without swamping the space above. The drop can be set long for a tall stairwell or kept short where the ceiling is ordinary.

We would hang this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the shade sits near eye level and the grey fabric keeps the light soft. It suits sitting rooms too, particularly where the walls are pale and a white shade would disappear. With LED GLS lamps it will dim, given a compatible lamp and a dimmer on the circuit, which helps in a room that does duty for both meals and evenings. It is a light for dry rooms indoors: hallways, landings, bedrooms, anywhere away from steam and splashing.

The metalwork is finished in satin nickel, a soft grey-toned sheen that stays quiet against the shade. The shade itself is faux silk over a white laminate lining, so light bounces forward cleanly while the outer face holds its grey.
