Description

Three lamps sit behind a single shade here, so you get the spread of a small cluster without a cluster's clutter. The outer fabric is a taupe faux silk, lined in halo gold, and the drum measures 40cm across, wide enough to feel generous over a table without crowding a smaller room. Underneath, a frosted acrylic diffuser ringed in antique brass closes the base, softening the light and keeping the lamps out of direct view. The suspension and ceiling plate carry the same antique brass finish.

It works over a dining table, along a wide hallway or at the centre of a sitting room, and the taupe and gold pairing settles easily with warm neutrals, oak and darker paint colours. The drop can be set at installation and reaches 3.3m, so it copes with a stairwell as readily as a standard ceiling height. We would fit warm white GLS lamps behind that diffuser, and if you want the level to come down for evenings, suitable dimmable lamps and a separate dimmer will do it.

Fabric over a metal frame, acrylic below and brass-finished metalwork throughout; it needs an earth connection. To clean, switch off first, then lift dust from the faux silk with a soft brush and wipe the brasswork and the diffuser with a dry cloth, leaving sprays and solvents well away from the acrylic. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, well away from bathrooms and open porches. It carries a one year warranty. The wider Baymont range takes in flush and semi-flush ceiling fittings and longer linear pendants in polished chrome and satin nickel, so a whole house can be kept in step. Lamps are not included.
