A slim satin nickel bar carries three lamps in a row, so light spreads along a length instead of pooling beneath one central point. Shading is faux silk in ivory pearl, lined in white laminate that pushes the light back down evenly, and measures 40cm across. The suspension is adjustable across a generous span, which lets the bar hang low over a work surface or sit up close to the ceiling in a room with less height to give away.

This is the fitting we would choose above a long dining table, a kitchen island or a run of breakfast bar, where a single pendant leaves the ends of the surface in shadow. It also does good work in a hallway with a console beneath it, or over a desk. Each holder takes a GLS A60 lamp in E27, up to 20W, and we would fit warm white LEDs for a soft cast through the faux silk. Dimming is possible with suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer, though neither comes with the fitting. It suits dry rooms indoors, so a bathroom is not the place for it.

The metalwork is finished in satin nickel, a softer grey than polished chrome and kinder to fingerprints, and it picks up the cool note in the ivory pearl fabric. Keep the faux silk dry: a light going over with a soft brush lifts dust, and the laminate lining wants nothing wet near it. How low can it hang, and how high can it go?

The drop adjusts from 415mm at its shortest to 3225mm at its longest, so it works over a table at seated eye level or in a tall stairwell.

Three E27 lamps, with LED GLS A60 recommended, up to 20W each. Lamps are supplied separately.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a dimmer matched to them. No dimmer is included with the fitting.

How should the faux silk be cleaned?

Dust it with a soft brush or a dry cloth, working gently over the surface. Avoid damp cloths and sprays, which can mark the fabric and the laminate lining.
