Baymont 3 Light E27 Flush Ceiling Light 30cm - Nude Beige

Our Baymont flush fitting pairs a faux silk drum shade in nude beige with a moonlight lining, so the light takes on a soft warmth as it spreads. A frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside, screening the lamps and settling the glow that falls straight down. Three E27 lampholders sit behind it, which gives a broad, even wash across a room rather than one hard bright spot. At 30cm across it reads as a neat circle overhead, with very little drop below the ceiling line.

We reach for this in rooms where a pendant would hang too low: hallways, landings, bedrooms and small back rooms with a lower ceiling than the rest of the house. It suits anyone who wants fabric and a gentle tone above head height without giving up space to walk under. It will dim, given suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer, so it works well in a bedroom where you want a quiet level late in the evening. We would choose warm white LED GLS lamps for it.

Faux silk over the outer shade, a lining in a paler shade beneath, and moulded acrylic for the diffuser keep the whole fitting light and easy to live with. Run a lint roller or the soft brush of a vacuum over the fabric now and then, and wipe the acrylic with a barely damp cloth once the lamps have gone cold. It carries a one year warranty. What lamps does it take?

Three E27 lamps, and we would fit LED GLS A60 lamps rated at no more than 20W each. They are bought separately.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a dimmer switch matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How much room does it need?

It measures 300mm across and 170mm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling and is well suited to spaces where headroom is tight.

Is the beige colour repeated inside the shade?

The outer shade is nude beige and the lining is a lighter moonlight tone, which reflects a warmer light down through the diffuser.

How do I clean the shade?

Keep it dry. A lint roller or the soft brush attachment of a vacuum lifts dust from the faux silk; the acrylic diffuser can take a barely damp cloth once the lamps are cold.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as bedrooms, hallways and living spaces.
