Description

A compact switched wall light in polished chrome, paired with a white faux silk shade that measures 12cm across. The shade is a small drum, and the chrome is bright and reflective, so the fitting catches light even when it is off. A rocker switch sits on the fitting itself, so the light can be turned on where you are standing rather than from the door. At this scale it sits quietly on a wall, doing its job without taking over the room. It takes an E14 candle lamp, and an LED candle is what we would fit.

This is the size of wall light we suggest when a table lamp has nowhere to stand. It works either side of a bed, in a narrow hallway where a bigger shade would catch shoulders, or beside a chair in a small guest room. We stock it as a single fitting, so buy two where you want a matched pair. The light through the faux silk is soft and mostly downward, better suited to evening rooms and landings than to close work. Dimming is possible if you fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a compatible dimmer, which is not supplied.

The frame and backplate are metal under a polished chrome finish, and the shade is faux silk with a white laminate lining. Keep it indoors and dry; steam and splashes are not its element. For care, a soft brush lifts dust from the fabric, and the chrome comes back with a dry cloth rather than any cream or spray. It carries a one year warranty. We like it with a clear candle lamp, where a little of the filament shows through the fabric. Lamps are not included.
