Description

Five slender arms curve outward from a central brass stem, each one holding a candle lamp inside a wide faux silk drum. The fabric is white, lined with a pale laminate that pushes the light downward over a table rather than letting it drift. At 60cm across, the drum reads as generous without looking bulky, and its shallow depth keeps the whole shape low and calm. The antique brass has a warm, gently aged tone that lifts against the plain white fabric, and the fitting hangs from a chain so the drop can be set to sit where you want it.

We reach for this one where a single pendant would look mean: over a long dining table, in a wide hallway, or at the centre of a sitting room with the ceiling height to carry it. The lamps spread light more evenly than one bright source, and each E14 takes up to 20W, which goes a long way in LED candle form. Dimming is possible if you fit dimmable lamps along with a compatible dimmer. It belongs in dry indoor rooms, so we would keep it well clear of bathrooms and covered porches.

The frame is metal in an antique brass finish, with the faux silk shade sitting over a white laminate lining. For care, run a soft brush around the fabric now and then to lift dust, then give the arms a dry buff; leave polishes and damp sprays alone, as they mark both the fabric and the metal. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included, and we would choose warm white LED candles here, which keep the brass looking mellow rather than yellow and suit the white fabric better than a cooler tone.
