Five candle lamps sit within one broad drum shade here, carried on an antique brass frame that hangs from a chain. The shade measures 60cm across, wrapped in gold leaf with a white lining, so the glow overhead picks up the warmth of the foil while the light falling into the room stays clean and even. It takes five E14 lamps, with LED candle lamps in the C35 shape recommended. The maximum is 20W per lamp.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer are supplied with the fitting.

How far down does it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 340mm to a maximum of 1800mm, using the 1.5m chain supplied. The body itself stands 220mm tall.

How wide is the shade?

The shade is 600mm in diameter, so allow a clear width of at least that over a table or above furniture.

How should the gold leaf shade be cleaned?

Dust it dry with a soft brush or a clean microfibre cloth. Avoid water, sprays and solvents on the foil surface, as they can mark it.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as dining rooms, halls and living rooms.
