Description

Three slim arms rise from a central stem and lift a single wide shade above them, which gives the light a lifted, open look rather than the closed drum you might expect. The shade is dual faux silk, taupe on the outside with a halo gold lining that warms whatever the lamps throw down. The metalwork is satin nickel, a quiet brushed grey that sits comfortably against the taupe. It measures 45cm across.

We reach for a multi-arm pendant like this over a dining table, where the width does the work of a much larger fitting without crowding the room, and it is just as happy in a bedroom or above a hall table. The candle lamps spread light across the shade rather than gathering it into one hot spot, so faces read kindly at the table. It hangs on a 1.5m chain, so the drop can be set to suit the ceiling height and whatever sits beneath it. Dimming is possible where dimmable lamps are fitted.

The frame is metal throughout in satin nickel, with the fabric stretched over its form and the gold lining sitting just inside the rim. Keep any attention gentle: a soft brush across the fabric, then a dry cloth on the nickel, with the power off first and no sprays or fluids near the shade. This is a fitting for dry rooms, so keep it away from bathrooms and porches. It carries a one year warranty.
