Description

Three candle lamps sit beneath a broad, shallow drum in dual faux silk, taupe on the outer face with halo gold turned inwards, so light picks up a warm tint on its way down. The arms and chain are polished chrome, bright enough to catch a little of that glow at the lower edge of the shade. At 45cm across, the drum is wide rather than deep, spreading light sideways across a table instead of dropping it in one narrow column. The chain gives generous adjustment, so the hanging height can be set close for a low ceiling or run long over a stairwell.

This is one we hang over a dining table, where the width of the shade covers the length of the top and the chrome keeps the whole thing from feeling heavy. It works equally well in a hallway with a little height to play with, or centred in a bedroom where softer, warmer light is wanted. It takes small candle lamps, and if you want the level to come down for evenings, choose dimmable ones and pair them with a suitable dimmer switch. It is intended for dry rooms inside the house, so keep it away from bathrooms and covered porches.

The frame is metal in a polished chrome finish, with the fabric shade fitted around it and a gold-toned interior. For the shade, a soft brush or the upholstery tool on a vacuum lifts dust without dragging the weave; the chrome comes up with a dry cloth, and nothing wet or abrasive. Turn the light off at the wall and let the lamps go cold before you touch them. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included, and we would fit LED candles here so the shade stays cool and the change of lamps is rare.
