Description

Three arms rise from a central antique brass stem and turn outward, each one carrying a candle lamp beneath one wide fabric shade. That shade is dual faux silk, taupe on the outer face with a halo gold lining, so the light takes on a warm tint as it comes down while the outside stays soft and neutral in the room. At 45cm across it reads as a single calm shape rather than a cluster of small ones, and the antique brass keeps the metalwork to a settled, slightly darkened tone instead of a bright polish.

This is the pendant we reach for over a dining table, where light wants to spread across the whole surface rather than pool in one spot. It sits just as happily in a hallway, above a hall table, or in the middle of a sitting room with a fabric lampshade or two already in play. It hangs on chain supplied at 1.5m, so the height can be set to suit the ceiling and whatever sits below. We would fit LED candle lamps in the E14 sockets, and if you want the level to drop for evenings, choose dimmable lamps and pair them with a compatible dimmer.

The body and arms are metal in an antique brass finish, with the faux silk shade doing the work of softening the output. Keep the fabric looking right by brushing it over with a clothes brush, or a vacuum's soft attachment on its lowest setting; the brass asks for nothing more than a dry duster, and we would keep polishes and sprays away from it, since they flatten an aged finish. It carries a one year warranty. Styled with plain glassware and a warm wall colour it stays quiet, while against darker walls the gold lining becomes the thing you notice first. Lamps are not included.
