Description

A slender matt black frame lifts three arms up into a shallow circle of faux silk, so the light gathers inside one broad shade rather than falling from three separate points. The fabric is nude beige on the outside with a paler moonlight tone facing in, which softens and warms the light on its way down. Measuring 45cm across and shallow in section, it gives a wide, quiet horizontal line above a table or a seating group, and the black arms show only as fine lines against the pale cloth.

It suits a dining table, a kitchen island, a wide hallway or the foot of a stairwell, anywhere you want a broad spread of light without a deep shade blocking the view across a room. The chain drop is set on installation and can be taken down to around 1.8m, so it works under a tall ceiling as easily as a standard one. Each arm takes a small screw-cap candle lamp, and we would choose LED candles here for the low running cost and low heat inside a fabric shade. Fit dimmable lamps and a matching dimmer if you want to bring the level down for evenings.

The frame and ceiling plate are finished in a flat, non-reflective black that holds its depth under lamplight, and the shade is faux silk stretched smoothly over its full width. Keep it fresh with a soft brush or the upholstery head of a vacuum on low suction, and keep polishes and damp cloths away from the cloth. It is an indoor fitting for rooms that stay dry, wired to the household mains and earthed. It carries a one year warranty. Pale fabric and black metal make it easy to sit alongside timber, brass or stone. Lamps are not included.
