Three slim arms curve up and outward from a central stem, each finishing in an open lamp holder with nothing above it. At 35cm across it reads as an airy outline rather than a solid mass, and the champagne gold finish stays warm and soft rather than sharply brassy. With the holders left bare, your choice of lamp does much of the decorative work, and we would reach for clear candle lamps with visible filaments for sparkle, or opal candles where a gentler glow suits the room better.

This is a good fitting over a small dining table, in a hall or on a landing, or in a bedroom where a shaded pendant would sit too heavily. It comes with 1.5m of chain, so the height can be set to the room and shortened where a ceiling is low or a table sits close beneath. Small candle lamps in an E14 holder keep the scale neat, and the light will dim if you pair dimmable lamps with a suitable dimmer switch. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; steam, splashes and open weather are not its territory.

The finish carries evenly across the body, the arms and the holders, which is what keeps a shadeless design looking deliberate rather than unfinished. Champagne gold sits happily beside warm woods, cream walls and other gold or brass metalwork, and it is quieter than a bright polished gold if the room already has plenty going on. Cleaning asks very little: turn the power off, let everything cool, then run a soft dry duster along the arms and around each holder. Avoid sprays, creams and anything abrasive, since plated finishes mark easily. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included, so add candle lamps to suit the mood you want.

What lamps does it take?

Three E14 candle lamps, up to 20W each. LED candle lamps in the C35 shape are the sensible choice, and because the holders are open the lamp is on show, so pick one you like the look of.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer switch. No dimmer is supplied with the pendant.

How far down does it hang?

The drop can be set anywhere between 340mm and 1800mm using the supplied chain, measured from the ceiling to the bottom of the fitting.

How wide is it, and how heavy?

It measures 350mm in diameter with a body height of 220mm, and weighs 1.42kg.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms such as halls, bedrooms, dining rooms and sitting rooms.

How should the finish be cleaned?

Switch off at the wall and let the lamps cool, then dust with a soft dry cloth. Household cleaners and polishes can dull the plating, so leave them out of it.
