Description

A neat square face in anthracite, this outdoor wall light keeps its lines simple and its bulk to a minimum. The body measures 16cm across and stands only about 3cm clear of the wall, so it reads as a quiet panel of light rather than a lantern. The LED is built in and draws 6W, giving a warm white glow that falls softly across the surface it is fitted to. There is no dimming and no switch on the fitting itself, so it works from whatever control the circuit already has.

We reach for this one on front and back doors, porch walls, side passages and the blank stretch of a garage or garden wall where a projecting lantern would be knocked or would simply look too heavy. A pair set either side of a door gives even light on the threshold; a run of three or four along a boundary wall marks a path without glare at eye level. It suits flats and balconies too, where anything deep would get in the way. The driver sits inside the fitting, so nothing extra is needed alongside it.

The finish is a matt anthracite that holds its own against brick, render and grey timber, and hides rain marks better than a pale colour will. Keep it looking well by wiping the face and edges with a damp cloth on a dry day, then drying it off; a soft brush clears cobwebs and grit from the underside of the housing. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same square shape in rust brown and sand white, and there is a round version of the Baker in all three finishes if you prefer a softer outline, including smaller round and square sizes for tighter spots. As the LED is integrated, there is nothing to plug in or swap out later.
