Description
Roughly 10cm across and square on, this one draws little attention in daylight and reads as a soft warm block of light after dark. The square face and slim border give it a clean, unfussy look. The LED is built in and draws 3W, giving a warm 3000K tone that flatters brick, render and painted timber. There is no switch on the body, so it takes its cue from a wall switch or an outdoor circuit you already control, and it is not dimmable.
It earns its place beside a front door, over a back step, along a side passage or partway up a garden wall where a lantern would look heavy. Sealed against rain and windblown dust, it is happy in sheltered and semi-exposed positions. We would fit a pair either side of a door at matching heights, or run several along a boundary wall for low, even light rather than pools. It suits anyone who wants the threshold lit without the fitting becoming the thing you look at.
The sand white finish is warm rather than stark, and the shallow projection keeps it clear of shoulders in a narrow passage or a tight porch. Care is a wipe over with a damp cloth once the power is off, plus a look for cobwebs and leaf litter at the end of the season. Because the LED is integral, there is nothing to replace at lamp level. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same small square in anthracite and rust brown, with round faces and larger sizes elsewhere in the range, so you can match shapes across a frontage or vary them by area.

Frequently Asked
Is it bright enough to light a front door?
It is an accent light rather than a floodlight. The 3W LED spreads its light over roughly 86 degrees, which is enough to mark a door, step or gate clearly. Fit two, one either side of a door, if you want a wider wash across the opening.
Can it be dimmed or switched at the fitting?
No. It is non-dimmable, and there is no switch on the body, so it is controlled from the switch or timer serving the circuit.
How far does it stand off the wall, and how big is it?
The face measures 105mm by 105mm and it projects only 22mm, so it sits very close to the wall. The fitting weighs 0.25kg.
Can it cope with rain?
Yes. It is rated IP54, meaning protection against dust and splashing water from any direction. That covers porches, passages and open garden walls, though it is not made for immersion or high pressure jets.
Will the LED need replacing?
The LED is integral, with an average life of 30,000 hours, so in normal outdoor use it should run for many years without attention.
How should I clean the sand white finish?
Switch the power off, then wipe the face and sides with a soft cloth and a little mild soapy water. Avoid solvents, bleach and abrasive pads, which will dull the finish.
