Description

Atom is a ceiling light in black and opal. Three opal glass spheres carried on short black arms that branch from a central black hub, set level with one another in a shallow triangle so the cluster reads as a group rather than a row. Each sphere is warm opal and evenly diffusing. The hub hangs on a short black stem from a wide flat black ceiling plate, so the fitting sits close under the plaster. Everything but the glass is a flat matt black.

Mounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface. It is the light you put in first and stop noticing, which is the point of a flush fitting: it does the general lighting so the lamps in the room can do the rest.

The holder is G9 and takes up to 28W each. It wires into a fixed outlet at a terminal block, which is work for a competent electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

A G9 lamp up to 28W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Yes. It wires into a fixed outlet at a terminal block.

Does it need an earth?

No. It is class II, double insulated, so it is wired live and neutral only.

Can it go in a bathroom?
