Description

A small square face, 84mm across, that recesses into the wall and keeps its light source tucked behind a fixed eyelid shield. The result is a low wash down the surface below rather than a bright point in the eye. The integrated LED draws 3W and gives a warm white 3000K output, soft enough for a house wall at night without bleaching brickwork or render. Anthracite reads almost black in daylight, which helps the fitting settle quietly into darker stone, render and timber.

We would use these along a flight of garden steps, down the side of a path, into a porch reveal or a low boundary wall, spaced so the pools of light overlap just enough to show where your feet are going. They are sealed against rain and wind driven damp, so an exposed elevation suits them as well as a sheltered one. Ours tend to go to customers working on driveways and courtyards, where a projecting lantern would be in the way of car doors and bins. There is no dimming; it works on a plain switched circuit, and the driver comes with the fitting.

Because the LED is built in there is no lamp to swap, and with the driver supplied the fitting arrives complete. Cleaning is a wipe across the lens with a damp cloth and a soft brush around the eyelid, where leaves and cobwebs gather over a season; do that with the circuit off. It carries a three year warranty. This square eyelid shape is also offered in sand black and sand white, and the same range runs to round eyelid and angled square faces if you want the light thrown wider or straighter, so a garden can be lit throughout with a single family of fittings.
