Description

A small square face in anthracite, 80mm across, with the light source set back and angled so the beam falls downward rather than out at eye level. The integrated LED draws 3W and gives a warm white light, enough to pick out a step edge or the line of a path without glare. There is no lamp to change and no dimming, so it runs simply from a switch, a timer or a photocell.

Outdoors it suits boundary walls, porch reveals, steps and the low walls around a terrace, where a run of several gives an even rhythm of light at ankle height. At 210 lumens each, one on its own is a marker rather than a source of general light, so we would plan them in pairs and short runs along a route. They are sealed against rain and wind driven wet, and the same fitting is at home in a covered passage or a garage wall. We would choose these for a client who wants the light and not the fitting.

The body is finished in anthracite, a dark grey that reads almost black once the light is on and settles quietly against stone, render and dark timber. The driver is supplied with it. Upkeep asks little: with the power off, brush cobwebs and leaf litter from the recess, then wipe the lens with a damp cloth so the beam stays clean. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock the same fitting with a round face and with an eyelid front, and in sand black and sand white if anthracite reads too dark against a pale wall. The LED is built in, so there is no bulb to buy.
