Description

The Arcus-1 is a 3m trimless recessed aluminium profile designed to house LED strip lighting in a flush-fit channel within plasterboard ceilings and walls. The profile sits entirely within the construction depth, leaving only the LED strip and diffuser visible at the surface. The white powder-coated aluminium body measures 46mm in projection depth and is supplied as a single 3000mm length.

Designed for residential and commercial installation where recessed linear lighting is required without visible frames or trims, the Arcus-1 suits corridors, kitchen ceilings, feature walls, and retail display environments. The profile accepts standard LED strip up to approximately 12mm width, with the aluminium channel acting as a heat sink to dissipate thermal load from the LEDs during operation. A separate diffuser cover (sold separately) clips into the channel to conceal the individual diodes and create an even line of light.

Installation involves cutting a corresponding slot in the plasterboard or ceiling construction, securing the profile within the void using the provided mounting clips, and finishing the edges flush with the surrounding surface. The aluminium body is robust enough to resist flex during installation while remaining light enough to be handled and positioned on site. The white finish blends with standard ceiling paint, or can be overcoated to match custom interior colours.

Does the Arcus-1 include LED strip or diffuser?

No. The profile is supplied as the aluminium channel only. LED strip and diffuser cover are sold separately and must be selected based on your required light output, colour temperature and diffusion preference.

What depth of ceiling void is needed?

The 46mm projection depth requires a minimum ceiling or wall void of 50mm to allow clearance for mounting clips and any wiring. In typical suspended ceiling installations with 100mm+ void depth, the profile fits comfortably.

Can the profile be cut to shorter lengths?

Yes. The 3m aluminium channel can be cut to required lengths using a hacksaw or mitre saw with a fine-tooth blade. Deburr the cut edges before installation to ensure the diffuser clips in cleanly.

Is it suitable for bathroom installation?

The Arcus-1 profile itself carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior use. If used in a bathroom, it must be positioned outside the designated bathroom zones or paired with IP-rated LED strip and appropriate electrical protection.
