Description

The Arcus-1 is a 2m recessed aluminium linear slot designed to house LED strip lighting in ceilings or walls. The trimless design sits flush with the surface once plastered or skimmed over, leaving only a narrow aperture where the LED strip is visible. The white-finished aluminium channel measures 46mm in projection and runs the full 2m length without joins.

Designed for modern ceiling installations where visible fittings would interrupt clean architectural lines, the Arcus-1 is plastered into the ceiling void during the finishing stage, then the LED strip is fitted into the recessed channel afterwards. The aluminium construction acts as a heatsink for the LED strip, drawing heat away from the diodes and improving long-term output consistency. The profile suits residential feature lighting (kitchen bulkheads, cove lighting, corridor runs) and commercial applications (reception ceilings, retail display zones).

The 2m length can be cut to size on-site with a hacksaw if shorter runs are needed, or multiple profiles can be joined end-to-end for longer continuous light runs. The white finish matches standard white plaster and paint, so once the LED strip is installed the only visible element is the light itself. LED strip is sold separately — the profile accepts standard 10-12mm wide strip with adhesive backing.

What LED strip does it take?

The Arcus-1 accepts standard LED strip up to 10-12mm wide with adhesive backing. LED strip is sold separately. The profile does not include a diffuser cover — the LED diodes will be visible once installed unless a separate diffuser is added.

How is it fitted?

The profile is recessed into the ceiling or wall void and plastered or skimmed over, leaving only the slot aperture exposed. Once the surface finish is dry, the LED strip is pressed into the channel. This is a first-fix installation — it must be planned before plastering.

Can it be cut to length?

Yes. The aluminium profile can be cut to any length shorter than 2m using a hacksaw or mitre saw. Multiple profiles can be joined end-to-end for runs longer than 2m.

Does it come with a diffuser?

No. The Arcus-1 is an open slot profile, so the LED strip diodes will be visible once installed. If a frosted or opal diffuser is needed, check for compatible diffuser accessories sold separately by Ideal Lux.
